Darren Passes Social Investment ACT Qualification

Since making it to ‘Fellow’ a couple of years ago, the exam front has been a bit quiet for Darren as he has been developing the business and helping the future generation get through their own professional qualifications.

However, the new ‘Adviser Competency Manual’ or ACT issued by Worthstone and supported by the Cabinet Office, tempted Darren back to hours of study and testing!

The manual was designed and written by an experienced group of people who run various Charities and Foundations that seek to help Society through investment.

It focuses on the different types of investment available to make a positive impact within communities and our environment. It also offers in depth considerations around the types of tax incentives available and the discovery process that a competent adviser should be allowing their clients to embark on.

Darren was tested across nine core units within the manual and received his result of a pass today.

‘I am delighted at this result’ said Darren. ‘Our clients have really pushed this theme within their investment portfolios over the past 18 months and I wanted to ensure we have all the tools available to help them – this excellent manual was a brilliant way of finding out more about this very under-publicized area’

Darren was one of the first 100 candidates in the UK to sit and pass the manual which took three months to work through.  True to form, we don’t believe in ever sitting back and resting at Thomas and Thomas – it just isn’t in our DNA.

Making our clients money drives us every day – but making money in a way that benefits our environment and society helps us sleep at night.
