2017 has certainly been a hectic year for our dynamic little team……
In January we successfully launched our brand new ‘Pro-ethical’ proposition which has been a roaring success for our clients now holding over £8 million in client funds.
In February we received a ‘Highly Commended’ award from the Professional Adviser publication.
Throughout the spring we were keenly hunting for our new trainee Chartered Financial Planner – this was no easy task.
In June we faced a panel of judges for the UK platform awards – receiving second place in the UK and another ‘Highly Commended’ award.
In July, our bright new light Emma Jones joined us – she is learning at a rapid rate and has really enhanced the Thomas and Thomas team.
In September, Emma passed her R02 Investments exam in record time.
In October, our wonderful Client Account Manager Katy became a Mum to baby Rae. She remains up to date with our team developments and Mum and baby are doing brilliantly.
In November we made the UK Top 100 Citywire award for leading Independent Financial Advisers.
Earlier this month, Emma bagged her second big professional exam – R05 Protection.
Today, we have been informed that we are once again in the prestigious New Model Adviser of the year Regional Finals 2018. We have been shortlisted down to the last five places in Wales.
Darren and Emma will travel to London in January to see who the winner will be. It is very hard to compete against large firms who can turn a large profit number, or log multiple professional qualifications. We are not deterred by this though! Thomas and Thomas are the smallest firm in the Wales finals, with under a fifth of the employee numbers of our largest competitor. However, we know that our client service is outstanding. We work our socks off to always be ahead of the game in terms of innovation, market awareness, client communication and financial planning skills.
We also know that we are nothing without our clients and we humbly thank you all for supporting and encouraging us throughout 2017. It has been a real pleasure to serve you and we relish the prospect of exceeding your expectations once again in 2018.
