Emma Qualifies with Final Financial Planning Exam

It is with some pride we can tell all of our clients today that our trainee Financial Planner Emma Jones has received her final exam results today and she passed!

Emma has been on a grueling 18 month challenge, taking Six Financial Planning Exams from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).  This last exam (R06) was a three hour written paper under exam conditions which tested Emma’s ability to bring together all the multiple facets of financial planning such as Pensions, Inheritance Tax, Investments, Income Tax and Protection.  She needed to build two financial plans within the time limit for two case studies.

Emma said this morning ‘I feel as if all the hard work has been worthwhile, the future now looks very exciting indeed’.

We shall now apply for Emma’s Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) from the CII and we will also complete a full sign off process to register her license with the FCA.

Emma is very much a part of our future plans at Thomas and Thomas.  When Lisa and I started this journey 12 years ago, it was possible to run a financial practice with just one person. These days, the amount of additional reporting, rules and administration involved make it impossible to operate in this way.

This is where Emma and Katy come in.  We know that we would have no future without the new generation of planners coming through.

Emma’s achievement is absolutely fantastic. These exams are so hard and they have built perfectly on her Finance and Business Degree. Emma is now continuing to work towards the coveted ‘Chartered’ status and we wish her truly every success and happiness with her career and as part of the Thomas and Thomas Team.

Huge congratulations Emma!

Darren, Lisa and Katy.
