Katy Smashes Pensions Exam – Ending Best Year Ever For Team Thomas

It is with huge pride that we can announce our trainee Financial Planner Katy has just passed the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Pensions R04 Paper. This paper is undoubtedly the hardest of the suite of six examinations that a qualifying financial planner faces. Katy passed it today at the first time of sitting.

The R04 paper has been made all the harder because of the recent pension changes (pension freedoms). Indeed there is a whole separate paper for this subject which R04 appears to cover a considerable amount of!

We have waited nervously all day whilst Katy travelled to Cardiff to sit the on line paper which would test her knowledge both in legacy pension legislation and new pension freedom laws. Complex calculations and the detail of various pension schemes were the order of the day. Katy has spent the past month taking masses of mock tests and attending training sessions to build up to the challenge.

‘I am just so happy’ said Katy, ‘This really has been the best year of my life’.

The exam success takes Katy to an outrageous exam pass rate of no fewer than five exam successes in 2015 and takes our firms total to a record breaking eight passes for Thomas and Thomas. Couple this up with a big increase in our funds under management, and we can celebrate a truly marvellous year.

Katy now begins preparation for the final two hour written exam to conclude her qualifications around April time. But just for tonight at least we would encourage her to put the books down and have a glass of something bubbly to celebrate.

Very well done Katy and a huge thanks to so many of our clients who have really encouraged and spurred her on.
